Exclusively AI & ML engineering roles

Finding AI engineers who have actually shipped is the hard part.

Every engineer has LLM and RAG on their resume. Most recruiters cannot tell who built a production system and who followed a tutorial.

Caliber only places AI and ML engineers. Every candidate is screened by a working AI engineer before you see their name. You get a written scorecard with every brief, not a pile of CVs to sort through.

The problem

You've been in this meeting.

Four rounds in. The candidate who said they built a RAG system in production cannot explain their chunking strategy. They followed a tutorial. The recruiter never knew the difference because the recruiter cannot evaluate AI engineers.

Most recruiters

  • See "LLM" on a resume and send it over
  • Cannot tell RAG from calling an API
  • Send 15 profiles, hope something sticks
  • Get paid either way

Caliber

  • Asks about what they built, not what's on their resume
  • Every candidate screened by a working AI engineer
  • Three candidates per role, each with a written scorecard
  • Paid only when someone joins

How we screen

We show our work.

We put every candidate in front of an engineer who has worked on the same problems. The kind of question a CTO would ask. Not a recruiter.

LLM Application Engineer

“You're getting hallucinations in production. Your prompt hasn't changed and the model hasn't changed. Where do you start?”

Anyone can describe the architecture. We listen for what broke and how they found it. That separates someone who built it from someone who followed a tutorial.

Every candidate comes with a one-page scorecard covering technical depth, gaps, and whether they are worth your time.

The process

Three steps. No wasted rounds.

01

We learn your team.

A 20-minute call. We ask what you're building, what the team looks like, what the role actually needs, and what's gone wrong with past hires. We send back a written role spec for you to confirm before we start sourcing.

Role scoping · Technical bar · Team context

02

We assess candidates.

A working AI engineer evaluates every candidate before we submit them — on what they have shipped, not what is on their resume. You get a one-page scorecard covering technical depth, gaps, and role fit.

Engineer evaluation · Scorecard · Role fit

03

You talk to three people.

Maximum three candidates per role. Each one has passed our technical screen, knows your role and company, and is worth your team's time. Offer support is included.

Why Caliber

Different from every recruiter you've tried.

Engineer-assessed

Screened by AI engineers, not HR.

Most recruiters screen on keywords. We put every candidate in front of an engineer who has built the same systems. You get a scorecard with every brief: what we assessed, where they are strong, and where they are not.

Domain specialists

Only AI. Nothing else.

We work exclusively in AI and ML engineering. Our network, our questions, and our judgment are focused entirely on this space. We are not placing sales engineers between AI roles.

Aligned incentives

You pay when they join.

12% of CTC, paid on day one of joining. If they leave in the first 90 days, we find a replacement at no charge. No exclusivity required. Keep working with anyone else you are using in parallel.

FAQ

Common questions.

How does the screening process work?

Before any candidate reaches you, a working AI engineer from our panel has evaluated them on what they have actually built and shipped. You get a one-page scorecard with every brief covering technical depth, gaps, and whether they are worth your time.

What does Caliber charge?

12% of the candidate's annual CTC, paid on day one of joining. Nothing before that. If the hire leaves within the first 90 days, we find a replacement at no additional charge.

How long until I see candidates?

First candidates typically go out within 10 to 14 days of the intake call. That covers sourcing, written assessment, engineer call, and scorecard. For Staff and Principal level roles, allow 2 to 3 weeks.

Do you require exclusivity?

No. Keep working with your internal team and any other recruiters in parallel. You pay only if someone Caliber introduced joins.

What roles do you place?

Only AI and ML engineering: LLM Application Engineers, ML Engineers, AI Infrastructure, MLOps, Generative AI Engineers, AI Platform Engineers, Staff and Principal AI Engineers, AI Engineering Managers, and Fine-tuning Specialists.

Which cities do you cover?

All of India. Most placements are in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi NCR. We also place candidates in remote and hybrid roles.
